A pair antique Faux Bois Garden Planters
Delightfully crafted French pair of antique, rectangular faux bois garden planters of good size. These rectangular antique garden planters offer a great depth for planting and comes with unusual drainage holes you can see, where little tubing has been created on the bottom front panel. Very unsual but exceptional detail to its original design. A personal favourite style of planter with such a natural, woody effect. We can also offer a matching pair of large, deep circular plant pots of legs.
Faux Bois ((fō bwah) comes from the French word, ‘false wood’. It was initially crafted in France by designers called ‘rocailleurs’ who used materials such as common iron materials: rods, barrel bands, and chicken wire as part of the process.
Faux Bois captures to look and texture of wood and its grain. It was particularly popular in the late 19th century through to the 1940’s.
