French Faux Bois Garden Planter

Beautifully crafted antique faux bois garden planter. This rectangular planter offers good depth for planting and comes with drainage holes. A personal favourite style of planter for me as the look is so natural with an wonderful woody effect.

Faux Bois ((fō bwah) comes from the French word, ‘false wood’. It was initially crafted in France by designers called ‘rocailleurs’ who used materials such as common iron materials: rods, barrel bands, and chicken wire as part of the process.

Faux Bois captures to look and texture of wood and its grain.  It was particularly popular in the late 19th century through to the 1940’s.
