A Carpathian rustic Bench Settle
A rare and fine example of mountain culture furniture, this primitive bench came from a settlement in the Carpathian mountain range. Experts have suggested that this bench is from the 16th – 17th century.
A beautiful piece representing old style crafting, characterised by the traditional workmanship and knowledge at that time. In particular, the pegged wooden back of the bench can be matched to roofs and walls of houses in the Carpathian mountain range during the same period. The bench provides a large inner storage, this very dual functional bench would sit comfortably in a conservatory or any hall.
