19th Century French Glazed Terracotta Tian

French terracotta tian or bowl, traditionally used to store confit prior to confit pots! This versatile bowl was also used for food preparation, a dairy bowl as well as a decorative piece. This French Tian features a distinctive glaze on the inside with natural earthenware on the outside of the terracotta bowl. Different colours were used for the glaze, from rustic greens, ochre, yellow and terracotta.
