A Large 19th Century Anduze Vase

One of my most favourite antique French terracotta vase, The Anduze Vase. The Anduze range of pots or vases originated from the Cévennes mountain ranges of Southern France, most specifically in Anduze which is located at the foot of the Cevennes range. These handmade terracotta glazes pots were uniquely created, initially to plant orange and lemon trees in aristocratic home.

This stunning classically shaped Anduze vase with the hallmark swag and markers signature of 1894, proves its age and provenance. This vase has stood the test of time, with some nibbles here and there mostly around the rim, but still in super condition. Enjoy a piece of history!
