A rare Coalbrookdale cast iron table
Stunning late 19th century antique cast iron table, this perfect rectangular table would fit equally in a contemporary or stately home. This is a period Coalbrookdale table which has recently been stripped and re-painted. with diamond registration stamp, number and pattern number 36. This table is illustrated in the 1875 Coalbrookdale catalogue, section II, number 36. This rectangular ornate table’s top is pierced with arabesques and stylised foliage, with similarly cast end supports, joined by an arched stretcher.
This Coalbrookdale table was intended for a hall or conservatory rather than for specific garden use.
NB One small non-structural crack underneath running 1½ inches on edge.
Coalbrookdale was the most important English foundry of the 19th Century for its manufacturing of a wide range of garden related products.
