Trio of James Stiff Antique Buff Terracotta Garden Urns

£1,350.00

A trio of rare and delightful James Stiff & Sons buff terracotta garden urns.

James Stiff & Sons were prominent makers of high-fired terracotta garden ornaments during the Victorian era, active from 1863 into the early 20th century. This urn is exceptionally well preserved, with sharp, clearly defined decoration. James Stiff (1808–1897) was an English potter, born in Suffolk. He began his career as a mould maker at the famous Doulton & Watts’ Lambeth Pottery, rising to establish his own pottery in Lambeth in 1842. In 1863, his sons William and Ebenezer joined the business, forming James Stiff & Sons.
Exceptionally rare to find three terracotta urns together and would be ideal both as interior décor or as outdoor planting.

There are some chips and cracks as shown on the urns.
